Strings are the heart of your sound, so it makes sense not only to buy good brands but to replace them regularly. And keep at least one full set and spare top E and B strings in your case.

For my own electric guitars I use an Ernie Ball Super Slinky Pink set but replace the .09 with .10 except for the Stratocaster where I retain the .09.
