Having just had his beloved 'Beano' Les Paul stolen from a rehearsal, Eric found himself in need of a guitar. For The Cream's low-key debut at the Twisted Wheel in Manchester and their 'official' debut at the Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival, Eric borrowed a Bigbsy-equipped 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard that belonged at the time to Keith Richards, later passing to Mick Taylor.
